What is the ideal size of a walnut? We know the answer to that question: Walnut-sized. But how about this question. What is the ideal size of an elementary school class? No, I don't mean the size of the classroom, I mean the amount of students in that class.
Well, in kindergarten, you may have had a class of about 32 students. There may even have been an additional teacher there to help out some of the time. But in elementary and secondary schools, what is the best size for a class?
Many would argue: small is best. This is because the students get more attention from the teacher, and they will learn more. This theory is correct. From a teacher or parent's point of view. But what about the students? Here are a couple reasons that students may actually want a BIGGER class.
-Less attention from the teacher may be GOOD
-Less chance of the teacher checking for daily homework completion
-More friends to socialize with
